Hope; Change; History.

America, this is your victory.

I slept with the tube turned on to CNN, and woke up to Anderson’s Cooper voice along with the closure of the first two polls. I wasn’t tuned in to watch Obama being announced his presidency, but when I was told of it, the first thing that popped into my head was

“OMFG, there is no way Palin can become President now!”

I have reason to believe that a lot of people who may have pushed for McCain before this but voted for Obama in the end, was because of their fear of Palin running the office sometime in the near future.

It should really be noted that this isn’t like any other US Presidential Election. For the first time in history, an African-American senator has managed to make it to the final two countdown for Presidency. For the first time in history, an African-American senator has triumphed over his White opposition. For the first time in history, the United States of America has an African-American as their President.

This just shows how far America has come, from the days of the slavery & segregation of the African-Americans, to putting aside racial issues and disagreements, for the vision & hope of a better future. For a much needed change.

Now let’s just hope that all the prophecies about the emergence of the third Anti-Christ after the death of Mabus and the war following the fall of the Republican house, were the results of Nostradamus having a really bad day and he wanted to vent his frustration on the world so he decided to scare the shit out of the future.
